LESS EMISSIONS, MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

“We aim to have a significant impact on the reduction of CO2 emissions with the streamlining and optimizing of transportation networks.”

One of the biggest culprits of CO2 emissions in transportation is empty mileage. According to the International Energy Agency, road freight represents approximately 70% of the total transport-related CO2 emissions in North America. Of this, empty trucks could be responsible for between 17.5% and 25% of the total CO2 emissions from road freight. According to the Environmental Defense Fund, one fully loaded truck can remove up to 25 passenger cars from the road.

Challenges and solution

Reducing carbon emissions and creating a sustainable future is one of humanity's most pressing challenges. One of the most significant contributors to CO2 emissions is the transportation industry, and optimizing transportation networks is one of the most effective ways to reduce these emissions. We believe that streamlining and optimizing transportation networks can significantly impact reducing carbon emissions, and that's why we have made it one of our top priorities. We are developing an algorithm that helps us optimize routes, keep trucks full, and minimize empty mileage travel.

Our goal

Our approach to optimizing transportation networks is centered around our algorithm, which helps us plan routes and reduce empty mileage. Our algorithm ensures that a minimum of 50% of trucks in our network always carry full loads, which means we are using less fuel and reducing emissions. In Universal Transit, we are proud of our progress in reducing CO2 emissions, but we know there is still much work to be done. We have set an ambitious goal of reducing the number of empty truck mileage in our network by up to 89% and increasing fuel savings by up to 20% over the next two years.

Reimbursement program

As part of sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint we designed our Electric Car Reimbursement program, $500 to any employee who purchases an electric car. By encouraging and incentivizing our employees to switch to electric vehicles, we are taking a proactive step towards reducing our carbon footprint and positively impacting the environment. Our new program is just one example of the many initiatives we are taking to reduce our carbon footprint and positively impact the environment.

Better visibility for shippers

We are building an application with a feature that will calculate, in real time, how many tons of carbon have been saved by shippers using our service to transport their vehicles. This program will also calculate the percentage by which we have reduced the environmental impact of each shipment. We believe that this program will provide our customers with valuable information about the positive impact that they are having on the environment by using our service. It will also give us a better understanding of our environmental impact and provide us with the information we need to continue improving our sustainability efforts.

We believe that sustainability is not just a goal but a journey that requires constant effort and improvement.
